One of the most successful advertising campaigns of the past decade was the iconic PC vs. Mac series of ads. While the commercials skewered Windows for all of its shortcomings, Apple never appeared mean-spirited or unfair, because the company positioned itself as the “little guy” competing against the “big corporation.” Now, the AdFreak blog has collected all 66 ads in chronological order for a look at the evolution of our computer culture.
The ads ran from 2006 to 2009 on TV and on the Web in various forms. The lighthearted rivalry even attracted a strong fan following. In fact, the ad’s product comparisons and characters became mainstays of online video-enabled display ads.
