Mercedes-Benz is striving to make its new fuel-cell vehicle stand out by making it invisible. To emphasize that its new B-Class hatchback has no exhaust emissions, the German automaker recently produced a 90-second spot promoting its F-CELL hydrogen fuel technology where the vehicle appears to be invisible as it travels through diverse areas of Germany. To produce this high-tech, creative advertising campaign, the car was first completely covered in LEDs. Then a camera on the other side of the car transmitted images of the surrounding area to the LEDs. The result was a veil of invisibility that opens your eyes to the wonders of digital technology.
