More Than One-Third Of New Online Ad Spending From Retail And Consumer Packaged Goods reports that retail and consumer packaged goods will account for the highest shares of new online ad spending. This news comes as the U.S. online ad market expects to see spending soar to an estimated $31.3 billion.

The retail industry is expected to add more than $1.3 billion to online budgets in 2011, for a total of $6.78 billion and growth of 24 percent. The consumer packaged goods segment is forecast to spend $640 million more to advertise online this year than last year, and will continue to grow through 2015. The automotive and financial services industries are also expected to post healthy growth through 2015.

The strong growth in U.S. online ad spending, along with the increasing number of marketers getting involved with digital, indicate that each industry will post strong yearly growth over the next four years. By 2015, total U.S. online ad spending will reach $49.5 billion for a 58 percent increase from today.
