Ad campaigns for entertainment such as movies, TV shows, and video games had the most online video shares during Q1 2013. This was a key finding from a recent report by video tech firm Unruly that analyzed the top trends in video advertising from content on 1,300 brands across all verticals. Consumer packaged goods (CPG) had the next highest number of online video shares due to popular ads like Budweiser’s “Brotherhood” campaign, which was the number one ad shared during the Super Bowl. This Budweiser campaign ended the advertising reign of automotive brands during the Super Bowl and relegated auto ads to just two of the top five most-shared ads during the big game. Finally, technology ads were the third strongest vertical for online video shares due to appealing commercials from Microsoft and Google.
