In an attempt to increase ad revenue, Twitter may offer branded pages that would be similar to Facebook Pages. The idea is that Twitter would give brands a designated page to fill with content and invite Twitter users to follow them, reports the U.K.’s Marketing magazine. These branded pages are currently under consideration, but sources close to the company say that executives are actively looking for new revenue streams to increase the long-term revenue potential of the network.
Twitter currently features very few promotional opportunities. It only offers free branded accounts and Promoted Accounts, which let brands purchase a place in recommended followers’ lists and sponsor hashtags to appear in related searches.
