The Power of Text Message Marketing INFOGRAPHIC cutoff

As opposed to the way that broadcasting is based on sharing information with large audiences, the new marketing trend of narrowcasting is about tailoring and targeting information to a more select group of recipients. Today, narrowcasting is emerging as a strong alternative marketing method capable of achieving far greater reach and much higher engagement levels than traditional broadcasting. Text message marketing is a prime example of narrowcasting since it sends messages out to a targeted group of individuals, as opposed to the mass-market messages broadcast via Facebook and Twitter. Mashable.com recently posted an insightful infographic by Mogreet that demonstrates how narrowcasting can make a big difference in marketing performance. It shows that a whopping 98 percent of text messages are opened, while 84 percent of Facebook news feed stories are never even viewed, and 77 percent of tweets are completely overlooked. It also indicates that most people look at their smartphones 150 times per day, while only 58 percent of Facebook members log in on a daily basis, and 57 percent of people check their email fewer than four times a day.
