Today, travelers go online to peruse and purchase travel before heading off on vacations. Now, Amazon gives them a new place to shop and select accommodations in any destination. It’s called Amazon Destinations and it’s a part of their Amazon Local Brand. It offers all types of hotel accommodations to meet any property preference, including large hotel chains, sprawling resorts, small independent hotels, and intimate B&Bs. It displays day rates and deals, plus a place to post online ratings. TheNextWeb.com posted more about Amazon’s growing place in the online travel industry.
Amazon has been offering online hotel reservations for quite some time. But Amazon Destinations provides a one-stop site for researching, reserving, and reviewing various travel options and offers for select destinations. This makes it comparable and competitive to other online booking sites. This also shows the importance of online hotel reviews and ORM for driving travel bookings,
Currently, Amazon Destinations is only available for properties in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Southern California. Yet once it takes off with travelers, it’s expected to expand to other locations.
