Happy Father’s Day takes on a whole new meaning in a new Dove ad that shows the happiness of fathers-to-be as they learn they have a baby on the way. The one-minute ad captures the real-life joy, tears, and emotional exuberance of 13 men as their partners share the happy news in creative ways. The touching ad is part of Dove’s #RealStrength campaign for its Men+Care line. The concept sprang from Dove’s recent efforts to make dads feel valued after a survey revealed that dads feel under-appreciated in the media. Mashable.com shared more on the ad that’s making audiences cry like babies.
What makes the ad so touching is that the men’s reactions are real. Dove found these moving moments posted all around the Web. After getting each couple’s permission, Dove intertwined them into the ad.
Dove was searching for these authentic and emotional moments to evolve their #RealStrength campaign. The company created the campaign last year to feature men in a positive light after discovering that many men felt dismissed by the media. Their first effort last year featured touching scenes of fathers sharing special moments with their children.
The release of this Father’s Day ad marks the start of Dove’s new series of Medium posts called “To All Dads.” These posts will feature father-to-father advice and personal experiences, along with contributions from journalists, authors, and parenting experts.
