September was a strong social media month for restaurants as the 15 top U.S. chains experienced an increase in Facebook fans, according to a report from social media intelligence company Unmetric. QSRweb.com reported on the details of this digital development.
Dunkin’ Donuts had the greatest increase, with 10 percent growth that resulted in 420,000 new fans, while the average restaurant page added approximately 110,000 fans.
Starbucks has always been a social media standout and is known for engaging best with its community, followed by Applebee’s and Costa Coffee. In fact, Starbucks is known for adding about 200 new posts each day from its community. Other social stars included Krispy Kreme and Chipotle, which had the best “net positive sentiment” on their individual Facebook walls.
With such a strong showing in September, it appears that restaurants have figured out how to use social media to make their brands even more beloved.
