Facebook plans to partner with the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to provide resources, tools, and up to $10 million in Facebook ads to help U.S. small businesses succeed. “Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy and we believe that Facebook can be a tremendous tool to fuel their growth and success,” said Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s chief operating officer. “Our goal is to give small businesses a boost by helping them find customers the best way possible—through recommendations from friends.”
Through this initiative, small businesses will be able to use Facebook as a forum to extend their reach, obtain and retain customers, and build a community interested in their brands. The overall goals are to increase the amount of private sector employees and stimulate the U.S. economy.
Highlights of the effort include offering marketing collateral, webinars, case studies, and valuable tips designed to help small businesses thrive. Facebook will also provide $50 of free ad credit to up to 200,000 U.S. businesses.
