Max Planck Florida Institute Grand Opening Boosted by Big Funding News

The grand opening of the Max Plank Florida Institute for Neuroscience in Jupiter on Wednesday was accompanied by the news of a huge financial donation from Germany. Over the next four years, the Institute will be the recipient of $10 million annually to support their research in understanding brain function and neural circuitry. The Max Planck Society is a world-renowned research organization that has produced 17 Nobel Prize laureates. The Institute currently has 90 employees working in nine research categories and plans to expand to 135 by 2015. Within the last two years, the Institute has received $900,000 in research grants to fund their ground-breaking efforts.
