Colombian artist Federico Uribe is famed for creating conceptual art from everyday objects, and crafting complex and captivating sculptures infused with humor, irony, and fantasy. Uribe has transformed a 5,000-square foot gallery in the Museum into a unique walk-in environment filled with some of his most iconic and impressive works of whimsy, which will be exhibited through December 4, 2011.
This one-of-a-kind exhibition includes works from Uribe’s 2008 Animal Farm, an enormous installation featuring a life-sized farmer crafted from colored pencils and a flocks of birds created with pliers. The collection also features numerous farm animals sculpted from common materials, as well as some of his new works, filled with tropical flair. Don’t miss this wondrous exhibit that will leave you in awe of Uribe’s awesome talent.
MDG is excited to announce that The World According To Federico Uribe will be on display through December 4, 2011 at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in Mizner Park. For more information, visit www.bocamuseum.org.
