Instagram is making it easier for users to direct their messages to the right people and places. The photo-sharing site recently announced a number of updates to Instagram Direct, its direct messaging feature. The updates are designed to enhance the ease of sharing content and conversations. Adweek.com posted more on Instagram’s improved direct messaging to keep users up to date.

Instagram’s improvements will directly affect users’ ability to send messages and engage in personal conversations. The updates include:
- Threaded messages.
- Ability to name specific group messages and add additional users.
- Capability to add “jumbo” emoji and photos captured with the app’s quick camera feature to messages.
- Capacity to share photos and videos directly from Instagram feeds, location pages, and hashtag pages with the new reshare arrow. This arrow is located beside the like and comment icons on photos and videos, as well as in the upper-right-hand corner of both location and hashtag pages.
A Direct Look at the Updates
With threaded messages, users will be able to easily contact and converse with the people they speak to most often. It will allow users to continue their previous chats without needing to start a new conversation each time they send a photo or video to their frequent contacts.
Instagram users will also be able to name the precise groups and other users they want to message. The update also lets users include oversized emoji and photos taken with the quick camera feature on messages they send, to express how they feel without words. Finally, sending personal photos and videos, location pages, and hashtag pages will also be simpler than ever.
Instagram rolled out these updates this week as part of version 7.5 of Instagram for both iOS and Android devices.
