Some may call it a sign of our digital times, but Mashable.com recently reported on a new Brazilian billboard for Nivea sunscreen that reveals its message only when exposed to the sun. Located in the sun-worshipping city of Rio de Janeiro, the billboard is comprised of 1 million white beads that become a colorful mosaic design of a woman on the beach when the beads react to UV rays. The only part of the billboard that doesn’t convert to color is the white letters of the tagline that are covered with Nivea sunscreen. During the night, the mosaic is replaced by a stark white background and the tagline. It’s truly a work of art and science, so take a look at this innovative billboard that only hints at the digital possibilities on the horizon.
