Top Air, Car, and Hotel Searches on Google for 2015

Mobile is starting to dominate hotel bookings, Disney World remains the top destination for U.S. tourists renting cars, and people really want to know the best time to book a flight, according to recent travel-related search data from Google.

The report was based on an analysis of queries conducted on the U.S. version of the Google search engine between July 2013 and June 2015.

The analysis found mobile queries are up significantly across the board in the travel space this year, including searches related to hotels (+49% YOY increase in mobile queries), tours/attractions (+47%), flights (+33%), car rentals (+44%), and cruises (+49%).

Mobile represents the largest share of searches for hotels, followed by tours/attractions and air.

The top travel-related question searched in the U.S. is, “When is the best time to book a flight?”, followed by, “Where is [destination name]?”

Air
Los Angeles to Las Vegas is the most-searched air itinerary in the United States, followed by New York to Chicago.

Delta is the most-searched airline on Google, followed by Southwest.

Car Rental
Kissimmee to Orlando is the most-searched car rental itinerary, followed by Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

Enterprise is the most-searched car rental company, followed by Hertz.

Hotel
Hotel searches tend to peak in July and hit their lowest point around October, the analysis found.

Marriott is the most-searched hotel brand, followed by Hampton Inn & Suites.
